Low-Price Hosting Services for Your Top-Level Domains

There are two things you demand so as to establish an online portal. The first one is a domain name that will display your web portal when you write it in a web browser, and the other one is a web hosting package, which is principally the storage space on a hosting server where the web site files will be located, plus a few more services that come with it. The domain name and the web hosting account are two similar, yet separate services, and you demand both of them in order to have a working online portal.

What is a Domain Name?

A domain is the alpha-numeric combination that you will select to be the address for the website: my-best-domain.com, for example. A domain name can be up to sixty four symbols long and it is composed of two constituents – a top-level domain name (TLD) and a second-level domain name (SLD). In the abovementioned example, my-best-domain is the Second-Level Domain, and .com is the top-level domain name. While you can pick the SLD of the domain name to be anything that is open for registration, there is a fixed number of TLDs to select from. The TLDs can be generic (gTLDs) or country-code (ccTLDs), and can be registered for a particular interval of time between one and ten years. They may include other requirements with regard to the registrant.

Domain Name Web Hosting Services

As the domain name is just a name and nothing more than that, you demand a website hosting account where you have to accommodate it. In such a way, when you write it in a browser, it will show the files that you have in the account, i.e. it will show your online portal. You can have a domain registered with a given company and get the hosting service from another, even though a lot of hosting corporations offer both solutions and it is more user-friendly to administer everything from the same website hosting Control Panel tool. Either way, since the domain name registration and the web hosting package are different services, you have to point the domain to the hosting server where it will be added as hosted. To accomplish that, you have to change a particular setting, or record, of the domain name - the so-called name servers. Each hosting distributor has at least two nameservers - ns1.royalwebhosting.co.uk and ns2.royalwebhosting.co.uk, for example. The website hosting Control Panel that you utilize for your domain name gives you the possibility to alter the NS records and point the domain to one provider or another.

The Demand for Trustworthy web hosting Services

As soon as the domain name is pointed to a particular domain hosting supplier and is added to their servers, you will obtain various online services. The most important one is that the web page files that you host on the web server will now be displayed when you write your domain name in a web browser. You will also be able to create email address accounts such as name@my-best-domain.com and make use of webmail or a mail user agent to administer them. Whether you have a personal or a business web site, being accessible online and being able to use mailboxes with your domain are the two most fundamental things that come with a web hosting package. In case you own a business web portal – it will identify your business before your visitors or customers. That is the reason why you demand a reliable web hosting provider that will supply a reliable and steady hosting service.
